The report contains the results of a survey of disabling work injuries which occurred in the construction industry during 1948. Estimates of injury volume and accident costs in 1948 are included. The survey covered both general and special trades contractors throughout the United States, except Alaska and Hawaii. The report includes injury frequency and severity rates by type of contracting (general or special trade), kind of construction, type of operation (residential, nonresidential), and geographical location of sites. Rate information for selected occupations is also provided. The report also contains information about the number of injuries by nature of injury and part of body injured.
