The report includes guidelines for determining the location and financing of airport projects in Appalachia and a suggested Appalachian Airport Plan based on a study of the role of airports in economic development. It is an economic analysis, not an engineering analysis of future airport needs, that considers general economic growth in the Region, future travel patterns, industry, airline service patterns, and types of transport expected to provide the services.
