The Military Transport Fly-by-Wire (FBW) Flight Test Program was an exploratory development program conducted jointly by the Air Force and Honeywell. The Air Force was primarily responsible for the installation and flight test phases with Honeywell responsible for equipment design and support of the program. Air Force facilities were used extensively throughout the program. The primary objective of this program was to perform light investigations of a FBW control system for typical large military transports and evaluate the resulting mission/task effectiveness benefits.
