An overview of the space activities in the Asia Pacific Region in the following fields is presented: (1) utilization of meteorological satellite data from Geostationary Meteorological Satellites (GMSs) and NOAA satellites; (2) application of data from earth observing satellites, including LANDSAT, SPOT, and Marine Observation Satellite-1 (MOS-1); (3) satellite communication network, domestic communication satellites, and the Japanese Pan-Pacific Regional Telecommunication Network Experiment and Research Satellite (PARTNERS) project; (4) space science projects; and (5) launch vehicle projects. Space activity organizations of the countries in this region are outlined.
