The eight papers in this volume develop methodology for analyzing traffic accident data and study specific questions concerning traffic accident injuries. The topics addressed include the role of children in traffic accidents, underride accidents, whiplash injuries, the effects of decreasing car size on traffic injuries, injury consequences, and the treatment of missing data. The principal accident data sources are the Fatal Accident Reporting System (FARS), the National Crash Severity Study (NCSS), and the National Accident Sampling System (NASS).
