A study was done to catalog the stiffness characteristics of door areas, A-pillars, B-pillars, and roof rails of several vehicles. Dynamic component tests were performed on the door interiors and various upper interior structures using rigid thoracic and head impactors. Static crush tests were done on the door exteriors. Results of these tests are presented. Injury potentials were estimated and correlated to the measured stiffness characteristics. The results of these correlations are presented and discussed.
