Usage rates are an integral part of most processes that compute spare part allowances. The 3M (Maintenance and Material Management) Aviation Usage Rate System develops rates for computing the range and depth of spare parts included in aircraft allowances. Previous system documentation developed by FMSO is detailed and assumes knowledge, by the reader, of specific areas of expertise. The report describes the system in general, non-technical terms for individuals desiring an overall understanding of the system and its use. (Author)
