The driving environment has become more complex as numerous traffic control devices have been developed and modified. This report documents activities that identify critical driver behavior issues that should be emphasized in teenage driver and traffic safety education courses. Survey assessments of teenage drivers and older drivers were conducted to evaluate driving operations and traffic control devices that are problematic and should be focused upon during the education process. The survey results are summarized and will be used to develop information for driver education curricula and in the development of brochures, newsletter articles, and/or information to be accessed through an Internet web site.
