While in the process of executing a precision radar GCA a DC-8-63F cargo aircraft crashed about 2,200 feet short of the threshold of a runway at Naha Air Base, Okinawa, July 1970. The four crewmembers and only occupants died as a result of the accident. Weather conditions at Naha are noted. The National Transportation Safety Board determines the probable cause of the accident.
