The plan sets forth a system of thoroughfares to serve Anderson during the planning period, 1965-1968. Thoroughfare characteristics, traffic flow, travel time, accident history and land use information are used as a basis for determining existing thoroughfare problems and deficiencies. Population, land use, vehicle use and vehicular registration data are used to estimate 1985 traffic flow. Future thoroughfare needs are determined from a capacity-deficiency analysis. Needs and opportunities lead to recommendations for improving existing and developing new thoroughfares. The report concludes with information about plan accomplishment. (Author)
