A presentation of the aerodynamics of the Tu-104 series of twin-jet passenger aircraft (including A, B, and D-suffix versions), written for pilot and engineer personnel assigned to them. The introductory Part One (3 chapters) deals in general terms with the aerodynamics of high speeds: physical properties of air, laws of motion of air, and airfoil characteristics. Part Two (12 chapters) is on the behavior of the Tu-104 aircraft itself: design and aerodynamic characteristics, powerplant performance, and the various phases of flight under the range of conditions encountered in operation: takeoff, climb, level flight, descent, turns, and landing; balance, stability and controllability and their limits; one-engine-out operation, with failure occurring at various times during takeoff and flight; behavior of the aircraft under turbulent and icing conditions.
