In order to optimise the aerodynamic shape of the rear part of aircraft fuselages, two models with the same shape rotational front part but with different rear parts were developed. The first rear part was an axisymmetric body, while the second ran out into a knife-edge. The influence of the knife-edge rear part (also called tube rear part ) on the aerodynamic forces and moments were investigated using lateral force and pressure distribution measurements.
