The Contractor conducted a program that provided estimates of consumer price and weight variance occurring on production passenger cars and light trucks in response to the following Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. For each task, applicable components were studied using automotive industry type cost and weight estimating techniques to develop consumer price and weight. Data related to the implementation of a standard was obtained by a comparison study between an established baseline and the implemented component or system.
