Utilizing the technology developed at Globe over the last few years with funding assistance from the DOE, an innovative lead-acid battery has been designed specifically for use in a hybrid car. The battery has exceeded all of the minimum performance goals, and in many cases the optimistic target goals. The eV-1300, which features electrolyte circulation, has excellent energy density, power characteristics, efficiency, and cycle life. It is a good candidate battery for other hybrid vehicles and electric vehicles which require a relatively small cell size. (ERA citation 08:026437)
