The statement proposes the acquisition of land (and federal reimbursement for land already acquired) for ultimate airport development (420 acres), including clear zones; the construction of the E/W primary runway (75' x 4000'); the construction of an apron (150' x 250') and connecting taxiway (30' x 400'); the installation of a medium intensity runway lighting system (MIRL); the relocation of the town road near the west boundary of the airport; the construction of an entrance road (24' x 150') and an auto parking area (60' x 100'); and the installation of a beacon. Summary of adverse impacts include the following: bald eagle nests may not be reoccupied by eagles; loss and change of wildlife habitat due to removal of trees and underbrush, and construction of pavement; and, increase in noise and air pollution levels due to runway improvement.
