A radiator installation to be used in a light aircraft, fitted on the underside of the fuselage, just aft of the main undercarriage was tested. All models tested were full scale and included a radiator core of the type to be used on the aircraft. The models were mounted in a false floor in the wind tunnel, which was used to simulate the fuselage. Speeds used were representative of typical aircraft flight speeds. The original design, as supplied by the aircraft manufacturer, was tested first and subsequently modifications were made to try to improve the cooling efficiency and drag of the installation. Significant improvements in performance achieved.
