The efficiency of tracking station data for the Orbital Test Satellite during the stationkeeping phase is considered for tracking network planning purposes. Results of an orbit determination accuracy study by Telesat for the Fucino and Madrid tracking stations are compared with the results of a study by DFVLR for Fucino, Weilheim, and Madrid. Results were obtained by an analysis program. Two other approaches are also given using simulated interferometer tracking data and Symphonie satellite results. The conclusions are that as an additional station to Fucino the Weilheim interferometer can compete with a range station to be built near Madrid, and Weilheim can provide full back-up tracking service, whereas this is not possible with a single range station.
