U.S. Export sales surge during August reflected tight world supplies. Upland cotton sales during July 28-August 31, 1989 were 779,500 running bales (RB). Japan, South Korea and the PRC were the major buyers. American Pima sales of 12,200 RB were mainly to Japan.
