Based on the positive results obtained in other mining branches by the use of trackless transport vehicles, it was intended to design a continuous and comprehensive trackless transport system from the surface to the underground mining area of Fuerst Leopold/Wulfen mine. To ensure the high financial risk to be incurred, a calculation was carried out which compared the economics of trackless transport with conventional techniques. No economic advantage of a comprehensive use of trackless transport in the Wulfen underground area could be found out. (ERA citation 13:014007)
