This slide presentation reviews the development of the Ares V launch vehicle. The Ares V is designed as a heavy lift vehicle to send cargo only or in combination with the Ares I will send crews to the moon. The Ares V vehicle design is evolving and will make the authority to proceed milestone in 2011. The key milestones are given with the first mission flight in Fall of 2018. The Design Reference Mission (DRM) for the Ares V is reviewed, including a table with the events from liftoff through LSAM/CEV separation, in time and altitude.
