The Vermont Interagency Crafts Council formed in January, 1973, seeks to explore ways in which the state could aid development of crafts in Vermont and to act as the coordinating body for craft activities in state government. The institutions and organizations developed with the assistance of the Craft Development Program would be self sustaining. The Vermont Interagency Crafts Council, Craft Professionals of Vermont and the Vermont State Craft Center at Frog Hollow are functioning in support of Vermont craftspeople, and creating a public awareness of crafts as a significant part of Vermont's economy deserving state financial, legislative, and promotional support. In addition to the crafts structures, the Vermont Council on the Arts provides grants-in-aid to individuals and craft-related institutions and supports these efforts as a member of the IACC and a board member of the State Craft Center.
