Results are given of an investigation of a crash which occurred in a large metropolitan area (population greater than 1,000,000) of a southern state on a major arterial roadway having two travel lanes (11.5') and a parking lane (8') in each direction separated by a curbed and grassed median strip (12') in September of 1969 at approximately 10:00 on a Thursday evening at a T-intersection where Vehicle 1 struck, with its front end, the right front side of vehicle 2 as the latter performed a turning maneuver across the path of Vehicle 1 resulting in subsequent collisions among and between the respective vehicles and roadway objects as well as ejection of the driver and passenger of Vehicle 2. IPA severity was indicated with one fatality resulting ten days later. (Author)
