The primary objectives of the study were to identify significant contributing factors to personal injury and illnesses for various categories of motor carrier employees, and to prioritize these factors in terms of the frequency and severity of accidents associated with them. A multi-phase study was conducted which analyzed the hazards of working in, on, or about commercial motor vehicles. The focus was on occupationally-related problems other than motor vehicle accidents. Volume II analyzes hazard priorities and suggests preliminary countermeasures based on review of existing injury/illness data.
