The North Atlantic Search and Rescue Operations Seminar was held at the United States Mission to the United Nations, New York, New York, on 12 and 13 May 1965, and was followed by field trips to various U. S. Coast Guard units on 14 May 1965. Participating in the Seminar were delegates from Canada, Federal Republic of Germany, France, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, as well as the United States Navy, United States Air Force, and the United States Federal Aviation Agency. Observers represented various international and national organizations concerned with actual search and rescue operations. A transcript of the Proceedings of the North Atlantic SAR Operations Seminar has been published in three volumes. Volume I contains the presentations and discussions of the first one and one-half days, from the morning of 12 May through 1200, 13 May. (Author)
