    The oscillating compound steam engine, rated at 120 HP, of the paddle steamer "Gisela" in its berth at Ebensee is put into operation after start-up of the coal-fired flue boiler. Operation of the engine by the machinist is shown accompanied by a description of this particular engine design. After an explanation of the function and operation of the manual reversal mechanism, the side wheels are shown. With the engine in an operational condition, the steamer travels over the lake stopping along the way at Traunkirchen.
