Due to the dry winter climate and low temperatures in high latitude and perennial low temperature areas of China, which are significantly different from other regions, the actual operating environment of urban rail transit trains in this region is different from other regions, thereby affecting the braking performance of urban rail transit trains in this region. Due to the strong promotion of energy conservation and environmental protection in China, flywheel energy storage devices have not yet been applied in urban rail transit in high latitude and perennial low temperature areas. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the applicability of flywheel energy storage devices in the special operating environment of urban rail trains in high latitude and perennial low temperature areas of China. This article takes Harbin Metro Line 1 as an example, calculates the total running resistance of the train during operation based on actual operating parameter conditions, and obtains the trend of mechanical braking consuming train kinetic energy under different loads. Finally, the flywheel energy storage results were simulated using the urban rail DC traction power supply simulation platform DCTPS. The simulation results showed that in the special operating environment of urban rail trains in high latitude and perennial low temperature areas of China, the braking energy is relatively abundant. The flywheel energy storage device still has certain applicability in high latitude and perennial low temperature areas of China, and can reduce a large amount of CO2emissions. Provide data reference and accumulate valuable experience for the analysis of braking energy and flywheel energy storage devices of urban rail trains in high latitude and perennial low temperature areas of China.
