High-power (> 50 mW) and wide-band (> 50 nm) 1.3-μm super luminescent diodes are reported. For both facets, tilted stripe with window structures and antireflection coating enable us to realize a low spectrum ripple (< 0.4 dB). An SLD module exhibits a high coupling efficiency above 70% and a high power above 30 mW in a single mode fibre.
