The Aerospace Emission Bandwidth Toolbox is a MATLAB toolbox that can be used to evaluate the emission bandwidth for space applications. This toolbox focuses on the emission bandwidth for satellite Tracking, Telemetry & Commanding (TT&C) signals that can be used for typical small satellite TT&C, Space-Ground Link System (SGLS) TT&C and NASA TT&C systems, including the legacy NASA Unified S-Band (USB) TT&C. CCSDS recommended BPSK, QPSK and OQPSK waveforms are also included. The resulting spectra are analyzed to estimate the emission bandwidths of the modulation methods. The emission bandwidths are characterized by the necessary bandwidth, the bandwidths containing 99%, 95% and 90% of the total power, as well as the −3 dB, −20 dB, −40 dB and −60 dB power level bandwidths. The model includes additional non-linear effects in the simulation such as high-power amplifiers both at the ground station and onboard the spacecraft as well as an 800 kHz filter onboard the spacecraft.
