The flight test of terrain awareness and warning system is a risky flight test subject. This system is usually consisted of eight sub-modes, including the basic mode from mode 1 to mode 6 and two enhanced modes. In the flight test of TAWS, high requirements are put forward for terrain selection, flight test technology, flight test planning and risk control. The key point of TAWS flight test is to find suitable terrain and prevent from control flight into terrain and the knock it off condition during the flight test. This paper expounds the technology and risk of TAWS flight test in details.
