Vehicle active collision avoidance system is an important research direction in modern automobile safety field. This paper presents a design of vehicle active collision avoidance system based on improved artificial potential field (IAPF)method. By constructing virtual dangerous potential energy field, the obstacles and dangerous areas in the surrounding environment are mapped as repulsive force field, and the target position is mapped as attractive field, and the optimal path of the vehicle is calculated by using the potential energy field. The experimental results show that the system can effectively avoid collision, and has high safety and reliability.
