Power Line Communication (PLC) on aircraft is a potential technology to integrate the power and communication system for decreasing the weight and volume of the cables onboard. However, electromagnetic noise in power line made it a rush environment for data transmission. Especially, the narrowband interference in the frequency domain and the impulsive noise in the time domain are the most harmful to the traditional PLC transmission scheme with Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM). In order to mitigate the negative effect of these interference and noise, the Non-Continuous Interferometry OFDM (NCI-OFDM) scheme is proposed in this paper. Different from the original application in air-to-ground communications, NCI-OFDM with newly designed wavy pilot pattern and non-continuous preamble can efficiently mitigate the interference in PLC channel. Moreover, the simulation and demonstration system are constructed to confirm the validity and efficiency of the proposed NCI-OFDM transmission scheme in PLC, especially being applied in aircraft onboard communications.
