This paper introduced the good characteristic of morphological filter and its application in pulse noise removing of vibration signal. The morphological filter was used to eliminate the pulse interference introduced when the vibration signal was detected. Using the combination of morphological open-closing and close-opening operations, the local characteristic of the original signal could be kept and pulse noises could be removed effectively. There is no need to consider signal’s spectrum characteristic when using the morphological filter to de-noise the corrupted signal. To verify the effectiveness of the morphological filter, the median filter was employed to process a simulated signal. The results by the morphologicalfilter were more stationary and smoother than those obtained by other methods. Finally, morphological filter with linear structure element was employed to analyze a practical vibration signal. The results showthat the influences of different noises can be effectively removed.
