The automotive fleet in Latin America is made up of conventional vehicles powered by fossil fuels, and this condition will remain for many years despite the constant growth of the sales of electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and other sustainable transport technologies. Therefore, it is important to evaluate the feasibility of the incorporation of photovoltaic (PV) panels in conventional vehicles to determine the efficiency that can be reached and harnessed for the motorization of a “sustainable” vehicle or to power diverse electronic devices and appliances.
