Satellites are subjected to extensive (ground level) environmental testing before launch to ensure successful launch and on-orbit operation. While there exists three primary environmental tests i.e., thermal, structural and electromagnetic interference/compatibility (EMI/EMC), the focus of this paper is on the thermal vacuum test applied to the flight model (FM) of an indigenous electro-optic satellite project carried out in Turkey.
