An efficient high-power Tm-Ho-codoped silica fiber laser pumped by a 1212-nm RFL by using a 2030-nm FBG is reported. More than 1 W output power is obtained. By using a 1823-nm FBG, efficient high-power laser operation at 1823 nm, arising from Tm/sup 3+/ ion emission, is also demonstrated.
