Because the development of reservoir downstream bed erosion is periodical and the resistance of the river bed changes over time during the erosion process, morphologic changes of the reservoir downstream river section is not always one-way. This paper provides a comprehensive analysis on the characteristics of morphologic changes below many domestic and foreign storage reservoirs and establishes a correspondence between the shape of cross section and the change of the resistance, which will deepen the understanding of deformation phenomenon on the river bed of reservoir downstream.
