A series of novel cationic phenyl-substituted poly(p-phenylene vinylene) (PPV) related copolymers were designed and synthesized through Wittig reaction. Their molecular structures and optical properties were investigated through FT-IR, /sup 1/H NMR, UV-vis and PL spectroscopies.
