A 1 mm thick silver slab target was irradiated by one beam line of our chirped pulse amplification (CPA) Nd:glass laser system. The x-ray laser output from the nickel-like silver plasma was observed by use of a grazing incidence spectrometer. In this spectrometer, we used a laminar type grating and the detector was a back-illuminated charged couple device.
