The present invention relates to an apparatus for detecting fire in a vehicle battery and a detection method thereof. More specifically, the present invention relates to an apparatus for detecting fire in the vehicle battery, which comprises: a battery pack which is mounted on a vehicle structure, and an electronic control apparatus. The battery pack includes: a battery module including one or more battery cells; a battery management system which transmits a signal received from the battery module to the electronic control apparatus, and a battery pack case with a gas discharge unit which discharges venting gas. The vehicle structure includes a sensor which measures one or more of the temperature and the pressure of the gas discharged from the gas discharge unit.

    본 발명은 차량 배터리 화재 감지 장치 및 감지 방법에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 차량 구조물에 장착되는 배터리 팩; 및 전자제어장치를 포함하되, 상기 배터리 팩은, 1개 이상의 배터리 셀을 포함하는 배터리 모듈, 상기 배터리 모듈로부터 수신한 신호를 전자제어장치로 송신하는 배터리 매니지먼트 시스템(Battery Management System), 및 벤팅가스가 방출되는 가스배출부가 구비된 배터리 팩 케이스를 포함하고, 상기 차량 구조물에는, 상기 가스배출부로부터 배출되는 가스의 온도 및 압력 중 어느 하나 이상을 측정하는 센서가 구비된 것을 특징으로 하는 차량 배터리 화재 감지 장치 및 감지 방법에 관한 것이다.
