Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for detecting a state of a vehicle occupant, which can control operation of a vehicle internal device or vehicle driving to respond to a change in a body of an occupant estimated in communication with the vehicle internal device in a 5G communication environment after executing an on-board artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm and/or a machine learning algorithm to acquire a biosignal of the occupant getting in the vehicle, and measuring a change in a body of the occupant through a movement signal, a breathing signal, and a heart rate signal in the acquired biosignal of the occupant. According to the present invention, after extracting movement, breathing, and heart rate signals of the occupant getting in the vehicle through an RF sensor mounted in the vehicle, based on the extracted biosignal of the occupant, a state of an occupant body is estimated to inform the occupant that the state of the body is estimated to be a biosignal deviant from a normal state.
탑재된 인공지능(artificial intelligence, AI) 알고리즘 및/또는 기계학습(machine learning) 알고리즘을 실행하여 차량에 탑승한 탑승자의 생체신호를 취득하고, 취득한 탑승자 생체신호에서 움직임 신호, 호흡 신호 및 심박수 신호를 통해 탑승자의 신체 변화를 측정한 뒤, 5G 통신 환경에서 차량 내부 기기와 통신하여 추정된 탑승자의 신체 변화에 대응할 수 있도록 차량 내부 기기의 구동을 제어하거나 차량 운행을 제어할 수 있는 차량 탑승자 상태 감지방법 및 차량 탑승자 상태 감지장치가 개시된다. 본 발명에 의하여 차량 내 탑재된 RF 센서를 통해 차량에 탑승한 탑승자의 움직임, 호흡, 심박수 신호를 추출한 뒤, 추출된 탑승자의 생체신호를 기초로 탑승자의 신체 상태를 추정하여 신체 상태가 정상상태를 벗어난 생체신호로 추정되면, 이를 탑승자에 알릴 수 있다.
