Disclosed are a boil-off gas reliquefaction system for a ship and an operating method thereof. The boil-off gas reliquefaction system for a ship comprises: a compressor for compressing boil-off gas generated from an onboard storage tank; a heat exchanger for cooling the compressed gas compressed by the compressor; and a refrigerant circulation unit in which a refrigerant that exchanges heat with the compressed gas in the heat exchanger circulates. The refrigerant circulation unit includes: a compander expander in which the refrigerant to be supplied to the heat exchanger is expanded and cooled; and a compander compressor for receiving the expansion energy of the refrigerant from the compander expander and compressing the refrigerant discharged after the heat exchange in the heat exchanger. In a normal operating state of the reliquefaction system, the variable geometry nozzle (VGN) of the compander expander is operated in a fully open state, and is operated using the compression/expansion ratio of the compander compressor and the compander expander as a fixed value. If the amount of cooling heat required by the reliquefaction system is lower than the minimum amount of cooling heat at which the VGN is operated with the fixed value of the compression/expansion ratio, the compression/expansion ratio is lowered so that the amount of cooling heat supplied to the reliquefaction system can be adjusted. Therefore, the reliquefaction rate can be increased by more effectively cooling the boil-off gas to be reliquefied.

    선박의 증발가스 재액화 시스템 및 그 운전방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 선박의 증발가스 재액화 시스템은, 선내 저장탱크로부터 발생하는 증발가스를 압축하는 압축기; 상기 압축기에서 압축된 압축가스가 냉각되는 열교환기; 및 상기 열교환기에서 압축가스와 열교환되는 냉매가 순환하는 냉매순환부;를 포함하는 재액화 시스템에서, 상기 냉매순환부는, 상기 열교환기로 공급될 냉매가 팽창 냉각되는 컴팬더 팽창기; 및 상기 컴팬더 팽창기로부터 상기 냉매의 팽창에너지를 전달받아 상기 열교환기에서 열교환 후 배출되는 냉매를 압축하는 컴팬더 압축기:를 포함하고, 재액화 시스템의 정상 운전 상태에서, 상기 컴팬더 팽창기의 VGN(Variable Geometry Nozzle)은 완전 개방(full open) 상태로 운전하고, 상기 컴팬더 압축기와 컴팬더 팽창기의 압축비/팽창비를 고정값으로 운전하되, 상기 재액화 시스템의 냉열 필요량이 상기 압축비/팽창비의 고정값으로 운전되는 최저 냉열량보다 낮아지면 상기 압축비/팽창비를 낮추어 상기 재액화 시스템으로 공급되는 냉열량을 조절하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
