The present invention relates to a method for reducing scale of a negative electrode used for electrolysis of ballast water. Specifically, the present invention relates to a method of modifying an electrode surface to suppress the electrodeposition of scale generated on the surface of the negative electrode during the electrolysis of ballast water. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for reducing scale of a negative electrode for ballast water electrolysis includes a step of adjusting the surface roughness value of the negative electrode made of titanium or titanium alloy to 0.8 to 6.3 μm or 0.1 to 0.8 μm.

    본 발명은 선박평형수의 전기분해에 사용되는 음극 전극의 스케일을 저감시키는 방법에 관한 것이다. 구체적으로는, 선박평형수의 전기분해시 음극 전극 표면에 발생되는 스케일의 전착을 억제하기 위해 전극 표면을 개질하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 일 실시형태에 따르면, 티타늄 또는 티타늄 합금으로 이루어진 음극 전극의 표면거칠기 값을 0.8 내지 6.3 ㎛ 또는 0.1 내지 0.8 ㎛로 조절하는 단계를 포함하는, 선박평형수 전기분해용 음극 전극의 스케일 저감 방법을 제공한다.
