To provide a ship capable of improving propulsion performance and of minimizing the damage caused by slamming without sacrificing turning performance and workability when a pitching vibration occurs.SOLUTION: A ship 100 comprises a hull 4 having a bow end 21 in a vertical stem shape, and has, on a ship bottom 3a, a ship bottom projecting portion 5 provided in a prescribed length range in the ship longitudinal direction from the bow end 21 of the hull 4 to the stern side and projecting downward from a keel line along a hull centerline. At least when a pitching vibration occurs at the natural period during a navigation, the range of a length L1 is the range in which the probability that the keel line above the ship bottom projecting portion 5 is exposed above the water surface is greater than or equal to a predetermined value. When the period of the pitching vibration during the navigation is the natural period of the hull 4, a vertical projecting depth from the keel line of the ship bottom projecting portion 5 is the depth at which the probability that the bottom surface of the ship bottom projecting portion 5 is exposed on the water surface is lower than or equal to a predetermined value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
