That is, a quenching depth extends to the center, which raises a yield point and improves fatigue strength. On the other hand, since the toughness of the surface is relatively higher than that of the center, cracks and the like due to repeated use are unlikely to occur. 【課題】疲労強度の向上を図り、繰り返し使用による表面の亀裂の発生を抑制する。【解決手段】本発明のトーションバー10は、熱処理により、断面方向の硬さが中心よりも表面の方が低い分布となっている。すなわち、焼入れ深さが中心まで及んでおり、これにより降伏点が高くなり、疲労強度が向上する。その一方、表面の靱性が中心よりも相対的に高いため、繰り返し使用による亀裂などが生じにくい。また、表面の硬さが中心寄りも相対的に低いため、回り止め加工を行いやすい。【選択図】 図3
