To provide a pneumatic tire excellent in on-ice grip performance.SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire comprises a tread formed by making rubber compositions to be cross-linked. The tread has a tread surface having a plurality of minute protrusions formed on the surface thereof. Number densities D of the minute protrusions in regions randomly chosen from the tread surface are 4000 (cm-2) or more. When a root-mean-square height obtained by measuring three-dimensional surface roughness of the regions is Sq (μm), a height from an average surface of each minute protrusion is over Sq (μm). A cross sectional area of each minute protrusion cut by a cutting surface that is parallel to the average surface and whose height from the average surface is Sq (μm) is 3000 (μm2) or less. The number densities D of the minute protrusions can be calculated by diving the number of the minute protrusions measured in the regions by areas (cm2) of the regions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】氷上グリップ性能に優れた空気入りタイヤの提供。【解決手段】この空気入りタイヤは、ゴム組成物が架橋されることで形成されたトレッドを備えている。このトレッドは、その表面に複数の微細突起が形成されたトレッド面を有している。このトレッド面から無作為に選択した領域における微細突起の数密度Dは、4000(cm−2)以上である。この領域の三次元表面粗さ測定により得られる二乗平均平方根高さがSq(μm)であるとき、各微細突起の平均面からの高さはSq(μm)を超える。各微細突起を、平均面に平行で、かつこの平均面からの高さがSq(μm)である切断面で切断したときの断面積は3000(μm2)以下である。この領域で計測された微細突起の数を、この領域の面積(cm2)で除すことにより、微細突起の数密度Dが算出される。【選択図】図1
