To provide, at inexpensive costs, an active vibration noise reduction apparatus which can generate a reference signal in a controller, can satisfactorily reduce vibration noises even when an acoustic property on a control path is changed, and can reduce calculation amounts.SOLUTION: In an active vibration noise reduction apparatus, an active vibration noise controller unit 13 comprises: first estimated signal generating means 28 for generating a vibration noise estimated signal d^ by third and fourth correction filters H^0, H^1 corresponding to signal transmission characteristics from a vibration noise source to error signal detection means; second estimated signal generating means 27, 70 for generating a first cancellation vibration noise estimation signal y^2; first virtual error signal generating means 82 for generating a first virtual error signal e'2; and first filter coefficient updating means 72, 74 for respectively sequentially updating filter coefficients of first and second adaptive notch control filters W0, W1, based on first and second reference signals r0, r1 and the first virtual error signal e'2, so that the first virtual error signal e'2 becomes minimum.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13
