To provide a technique that can make good use of characteristics of a train such that swing of a railroad vehicle is not transmitted to other railroad vehicles connected through couplers so as to detect whether swing of a railroad train etc., is swing by an earthquake, especially a local earthquake, and enables emergency processing which should be performed when the earthquake takes place.SOLUTION: A train control system comprises: a plurality of first and second acceleration detection devices mounted on at least first and second railroad vehicles respectively; and an on-vehicle control device which receives first and second pieces of acceleration information detected by the first and second acceleration detection devices. In the on-vehicle control device, a plurality of acceleration measuring means which detect swing caused by an earthquake based upon the first and second pieces of acceleration information detected by the first and second acceleration detection devices and installed on the plurality of railroad vehicles connected to couplers take measures corresponding to the earthquake by making an emergency stop, giving notice to passengers, nearby railroad vehicles, ground facilities and crews, actuating vibration control means, and so on if swing is caused in a direction other than an ongoing direction to a magnitude equal to or larger than a threshold with a time difference within a threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】鉄道車両の搖動が連結器で接続された別の鉄道車両に伝わらない列車の特性を活かして、鉄道車両などの搖動が地震、特に直下型地震による搖動であるか否かを検出でき、地震発生時にとるべき緊急処理を可能とする技術を提供する。【解決手段】少なくとも第1、第2鉄道車両にそれぞれ搭載された第1、第2複数の加速度検出装置と、前記第1、第2加速度検出装置にて検出された第1、第2加速度情報を受ける車上制御装置を備え、前記車上制御装置は、前記第1、第2加速度検出装置にて検出した第1、第2加速度情報に基づき、地震による搖動を検出する連結器に接続された複数の鉄道車両に設置された複数の加速度測定手段が、進行方向以外に閾値以内の時間差で、閾値以上の大きさで揺動した場合に緊急停止、乗客への報知、近隣鉄道車両への報知、地上設備への報知、乗務員への報知、制震手段の起動など地震に対応した手段を取る。【選択図】図2
