To provide an electric vehicle capable of maintaining the charging rate of a second battery within a predetermined range while avoiding transfer of power between a first battery and the second battery as much as possible.SOLUTION: An electric vehicle V comprises: a first battery ESE; a second battery ESP having a higher output weight density and a lower energy weight density than the first battery ESE; a motor generator M; a power conversion circuit 3; and a control device 5 for controlling the power conversion circuit 3. The control device 5 controls the power conversion circuit 3 so that, at the time of power running operation of the motor generator M, at least a portion of power required to change a vehicle speed among required power is discharged from the second battery ESP and remaining power excluding the power discharged from the second battery ESP from the required power is discharged from the first battery ESE, and controls the power conversion circuit 3 so that, at the time of regenerative operation of the motor generator M, power generated by the motor generator M is charged to the second battery ESP.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
