To provide a tire rubber composition that can achieve both of ozone resistance and appearance performance in a wide range of environmental temperatures, and a pneumatic tire made with the rubber composition.SOLUTION: A tire rubber composition contains a wax in which the total content (A) of C23-32 normal alkanes is 40 mass% or more and the total content (B) of C33-40 normal alkanes is 30 mass% or less, with A/B of 25 or less, and a surfactant with an HLB value of 6-18 and a weight average molecular weight of 3800 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
