To provide a pneumatic tire improved in wet grip performance and fuel economy in a well-balanced manner.SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire includes a tread composed of a rubber composition containing 0.5 pt.mass or more of silica and 5-50 pts.mass of a resin having a melt viscosity (150°C) of 12,000-15,000 mPa s based on 100 pts.mass of a rubber component. The rubber component contains 40-100 mass% of a styrene-butadiene rubber and 0-60% mass% of a butadiene rubber. The resin is at least one selected from the group consisting of a terpene phenol resin, a phenol resin and an alkylphenol resin.SELECTED DRAWING: None
